Hey Justin,
Seeing this post about the PMC brings back memories of our animation club in Laguna beach, the Animators Anonymous. I’m curious is Dana Lamb still at Cal State Fullerton? I’ve really tried to stay in touch with the new administration at my school but feel like it’s a lost cause. I did a portfolio review at an ASIFA event, I asked the student where they attended art school and was totally surprised to here her say the Laguna College of Art & Design. I told her that’s where I went, she couldn’t believe it. Sadly the alumni relations at my school are non-existent, are things better at Cal State Fullerton?
Take care.
…ira
Hey Ira! Yep, Dana is still there and the Pencil Mileage Club is still kickin’ and strong! Quite a few of the alumni from the animation department keep in touch through our blogs and facebook, so it’s been pretty neat seeing who’s doing what after graduation. How are you doing up “North”?
Thanks for the plug Justin! In response to Ira’s comment I think if Aubrey were still there he would have kept your alums in touch, he is at CSU Long Beach now and building their animation program. If I didn’t have the club to help with the time required to keep in touch with everyone I know we wouldn’t have been able to maintain the contact that we have. LCAD is a great school and I know they are committed to their students and alums but it does take a lot of time to keep in touch with everyone. Like Justin said, thanks to blogsites, facebook, and the hundreds of e-mail addresses I have been able to collect over the last 14 years, we stay in contact as much as possible. Keep an eye on our blogsite and come join us sometime for our presentations and drawing sessions. We have a couple coming up with Doug Tennapel on April 14th, and the original cabelleros (did I spell that right?) Justin, Mike Roush, and Josh Pruett on April 24th.
